Mother Awadh
After the takeover of Awadh by the British India Administration, the mother of Vajid Ali Shah, the deposed Nawab of Awadh, along with the cohorts went straight to London, in order to plead her son's case before Queen Victoria of Britain. Inspite of the fact that how hazardous were the journey's to Britain in those days she undertook one and reached Britain. She also went to the court of Queen Victoria and presented her case. But did not receive any thing from her except her cold assurance. Later on, on her way back she died and was buried at Paris, France. Where till date exists her memorial.
